African Culinary Academy
The African Culinary Academy is specifically designed to educate members of the African diaspora to learn and prepare traditional foods from the five culinary regions of the African continent and prepare participants for a career in the food industry. The intent is to create a culinary talent pipeline that understands and can prepare African foods—one of the least represented food types in our professional food community. The African Culinary Academy offers interns ranging from youth to adults and seniors who are either aspiring or active culinary professionals or part of the non-professional population a chance to participate in a free 8-week comprehensive course on African Culinary Heritage in a classroom and professional setting.
